$8,000 Tax Credit Extended!
Homebuyer Tax Credit - Not Just for First Time Buyers ...WOW!!!
The Homebuyers Tax Credit made it through the Senate and the House and signed by President Obama.
Here are the details:
-For first time homebuyers who have not owned a home in the last three years, the tax credit may be up to $8,000 with increased income limits maxing out at $125,000 for singles and $250,000 for couples
-For current homeowners who have owned a home for five of the previous eight years, they are now eligible for a credit of up to $6,500 with the same income limits as above
-Purchase agreements need to be signed by April 30th, 2010 and closed by June 30th
-Members of our armed forces who were stationed out of the U.S. on official duty for 90 days during the period from January 1, 2009 and before May 1, 2010 will have an extended eligibility period where contracts may be signed before May 1, 2011 and closed by July 1, 2011.
